Marriage of the Believers.

Asalamualaikum,

Marriage is the union of two unknown souls, settled by Allah in Heaven and celebrated on Earth.
But these days as everything is happening at lightening speeds, marriage lags no far behind.
Eyes meet and and next second you are married. But we forget that there are some rules put down
by Almighty Allah regarding the same which we forget to look on or heed in haste. He has bestowed
us with the beautiful Qur'an in which he has made it easier for mankind to learn the way of life.
Now I will be quoting some verses exclusively on the subject of marriage of a believer.

Do not marry unbelieving women until they believe:
A slave woman who believes is better than an unbelieving woman.
Even though she allure you.
Nor marry your girls to unbelievers until they believe:
A man slave who believes is better than an unbeliever.
Even though he allure you.
Unbelievers do but Beckon you to the fire.
But Allah beckons by his grace To the garden of bliss and Forgiveness,
And Made His signs clear to mankind:
That they receive admonition.
(2:221)

....Lawful unto you in marriage are not only chaste women who are believers,
but chaste women among The people of the book *1,
Revealed before your time-
When ye give them Their due dowers, and desire chastity, not lewdness, nor secret intrigues.....(5:5)

....Marry women of your choice, two, or three, or four;
But if ye fear that ye shall not Be able to deal justly with them,
Then only one or a captive that your right hand possess.
That will be more suitable,
To prevent you from injustice.(4:3)

Prohibited to you for marriage are- Your mothers, daughters, Sisters;
Father's sisters, Mother's sisters, brother's daughters, sister's daughters;
Foster-mothers Who gave you a suck, foster-sisters;
Your wives' mothers;
Your step-daughters under your Guardianship, born of your wives To whom ye have go in-
No prohibition if ye have not gone in-
Those who have been Wives of your sons proceeding from your loins;
And two sisters in wedlock at one and the same time,
Except for what is past;
For Allah is Oft-Forgiving,
Most Merciful- (4:23)

Also prohibited are women already married,
Except those whom your right hand possess *2:
Thus hath Allah ordained prohibitions against you:
Except for these, all others are lawful, provided ye seek them in marriage with gifts from your property-
Desiring chastity, not lust.
Seeing that ye derive benefit from them,
give them their dowers least as prescribed; but if, after a dower is prescribed,
ye agree mutually to vary it,
There is no blame on you, And Allah is All-Knowing, All-Wise. (4:24)

*1  :   Inter-marriage is permitted with the people of the book. A muslim may marry a woman from their
rankson the same terms as he would marry a muslim woman, i.e., he must give her an economic and moral
status, and must not be actuated merely by motives of lust or physical desires.
A muslim woman may not marry a non-Muslim man(people of the book), because her muslim status
would be affected: the wife ordinarily takes the nationality and status given by her husband's law.

*2   :   Whom your right hand possess:  i.e.  , captives in a Jihad.
